Preliminary data suggest there were four reporters among the twelve people killed in a Mi-26 helicopter crash Saturday morning 40 kilometres east of Chita, in southern Siberia. The accident occurred today at 9 a.m., Moscow time, killing all of the helicopter's passengers and crew.
The Mi-26, which belonged to the Russian Emergencies Ministry, was taking a fire brigade to the site of a wildfire near Chita, the ministry's officer on duty reports.
