A Chechen terrorist, wanted by Russian police for grave crimes, was arrested at the Black Sea coast in Georgia, Rustavi-2 TV company (Tbilisi) said on Monday.
The Georgian Interior Ministry confirmed the arrest of "a man, who is not a citizen of Georgia, wanted for grave crimes".
Official spokesman for the Georgian National Security Ministry, which carried out the special arrest operation, still refuse to comment upon the incident.
The detainee, Ruslan Beshayev, obstructed the police during the arrest and exploded a grenade, Rustavi-2 reported. As a result, a woman was wounded. According to police information, Ruslan Beshayev had been recently hiding in the Pankisi Gorge on the Russian-Georgian border.
