The trial of three inhabitants of Karachai-Circassia (a republic of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasus), who are accused of terrorism and the preparation of the armed seizure of power in the republic, will start in Pyatigorsk on Tuesday. A RIA Novosti correspondent was told about it in the permanent body of the Stavropol Territorial Court in the Caucasian Mineralnye Vody.
The inhabitants of the Ust-Dzhegut district - Ramazan Gochiyayev, Khyzyr Salpagarov and Eduard Kharatokov - are accused of organising terrorist acts in the towns of Caucasian Mineralnye Vody and Stavropol as a result of which tens of people died and were injured.
Apart from that, the defendants are accused of the creation of a criminal community, murders, participation in illegal armed units, preparation of an armed revolt, stirring up racial, ethnic and religious enmity, forgery of documents, illegal possession of fire arms and calls in public for a forcible change of the constitutional system in the country.
