Chechen law-enforcers have found the murderer of the administration head of Mesker-Yurt.
According to a source in the republic's interior ministry office, the murder was committed in November of 2000 by one Ibragim Dudayev, a 30-year-old inhabitant of the same village. On May 26, he was killed in a clash with Russian soldiers. A ballistic expertise of his Kalashnikov assault rifle proved that it was the rifle used to shoot down the high-ranking official.
According to the investigation's information, Dudayev was a member of a terrorist gang run by a certain Akhmadov, which reported to the armed unit of the Arab mercenary Abu al-Wahid. Police keep searching for other members of Akhmadov's gang, who were also involved in the murder.
