A major terrorist act prevented in Chechnya

The police of Argun, Chechnya, have prevented a major terrorist act. According to the Interior Ministry Department for Chechnya, acting on the information supplied by a detained bandit, the policemen found a large amount of explosives, in particular 400 g of hexogen, 1 kg of plastite, 2 kg of TNT and a personnel mine, in a ruined building in the city's centre.

According to the information acquired by the police, the bandits had been accumulating the explosives for several days with a view to staging a major terrorist act against the local administration and Argun population.
