Russian border guards have found a cache with an anti-aircraft system on the Tajik-Afghan border, reported the press service of Russian border-guards in Tajikistan on Saturday.
A border patrol found a cache containing the ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft system and 223 pieces of ammunition. The cache was located on an island of the border River Panj. According to the press service, the cannon and ammunition have been delivered to a border station and placed in a warehouse.
The press service also reported that since June 11th till June 14th 2002, Russian border-guards assigned to the Murgab border unit let through humanitarian aid supplied by non-governmental organisations to Afghanistan via the Kizil-Rabat simplified checkpoint.
