Federal forces conduct special operation in Duba-Yurt, Chechnya

On Monday, federal military units are conducting a special operation in the Chechen village of Duba-Yurt, which is situated at the entrance to the Argun Gorge, in search of separatists and weapons. According to Abdula Sapiyev, the deputy administration head of Chechnya's Shali district, they have sealed off the Grozny-Shatoi highway that runs through this village.

Apart from the military, the operation involves representatives of the local administration and the Chechen law-enforcing authorities. So far, everything goes smoothly.

Since the beginning of the previous week, federal forces have also been engaged in their effort to neutralize a bandit group in the village of Mesker-Yurt. The village remains sealed off.
