Two terrorists were eliminated during a special operation in the Chechen Republic, reported the Russian interior ministry on Tuesday.
While conducting a large-scale operation in the village of Mesker-Yurt, Chechnya's Shali district on Monday, law enforcers came across a local Dudayev suspected of being a member of a separatist gang. The militant opened fire on law enforcers with an assault rifle and was killed by response fire.
Later in the day, a 36-year-old separatist named Saltamirzayev opened fire with an automatic weapon on a group of servicemen who were searching through a building and was killed by response fire, too. None of the servicemen was hurt. Searching the site after the incident, law enforcers found a Kalashnikov assault rifle with cartridges and two grenades.
