The Chechen section of the Russian-Georgian border is being reinforced with reserve units, reported the press service of the North Caucasian Regional Department of Russia's Federal Frontier Service on Wednesday. According to Colonel General Yevgeny Bolkhovitin, who heads the department, the task facing the FFS is to strengthen this particular section of the border for the spring and summer period. The decision to strengthen the border was prompted by the opening of mountain passes and the appearance of undergrowth, the natural circumstances that Chechen militants often use to sneak across the border.
