Two policemen were killed and two more wounded in a landmine explosion in Chechnya, reported the Interior Office of the Chechen Republic. The landmine went off on Sunday in Grozny's Oktyabrsky district, not far from checkpoint No.35, and wrecked an Ural car bearing police officers from interior departments of the Kurgan and Penza regions. Two of the policemen were killed on the spot. In a separate development, a defence ministry armored personnel carrier drove across an unidentified explosive device planted in the village of Assinovskaya, Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district. Three defence ministry servicemen were hospitalized with wounds, and three more had their injuries treated on the spot. Law enforcers are investigating both incidents.
