Positions Of Russian Troops In Chechnya Under Fire Thirteen Times On Thursday

On Thursday units of the United Group of Interior Ministry Forces in the North Caucasus were under fire from militants thirteen times. This information was given by the provisional press center of the Ministry in North Caucasus. In addition, an UAZ-469 jeep was exploded by an unidentified explosive device at about 10 am (Moscow time) in the Staropromyslovsky District of Grozny at a distance of 200 meters from a check point. There were seven militiamen in the jeep, as a result, the 26-year old lieutenant and 21-year old private of the militia were wounded. Presently actions aimed at finding and arresting the culprits are underway. On Thursday a car hit a homemade remotely controlled explosive device at the crossing between the Shosseinaya and Lenin Streets in the town of Argun (Chechnya). The head of Argun administration Movsar Temirbaev and his three guards were in the car. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and the car was slightly damaged.
