US President George W. Bush's statement on the national missile defence issue testifies to his preparedness to hold consultations on this problem, said Commander-in-Chief of Russia's Navy, fleet admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov in his Thursday comment on the US president's statement. The missile address of Mr Bush announced the US administration's intention to deploy a national missile defence system after holding preliminary consultations with US allies and other countries, including Russia. In Kuroyedov's opinion, the suggested consultations are the best approach currently at hand. He said that judging by the US presidential statement, such consultations are really to take place. It means that Russia will participate in them, too, stressed the Navy's commander-in-chief.
