During military clashes in Chechnya three terrorists were killed by militiamen and servicemen of the Russian Interior Troops within the past twenty-four hours. One of them was killed in Grozny. As the headquarters of the Joint Group of the Russian Interior Ministry in the North Caucasus reported, the militiamen also confiscated six sub-machine guns, five grenade-launchers, one flame thrower, three pistols, 84 grenades, 16 shells, 29 mines and explosive devices, 16 fuses and six Kilogrammes of explosives. On Wednesday, five special operations were made in Chechnya to check up the passport regime and to confiscate weapons and ammunition belonging to militants. The operations took place in Shali, Dyshne-Vedeno, the Oktyabrsky district of Grozny, Gudermes and Alkhan-Yurt. In the course of the past twenty-four hours, as was pointed out in the headquarters, the enforcers in Chechnya checked up 15,500 people and the same number of automobiles. They have registered 1,498 administrative violations of the law in the republic.
