Since the beginning of April, Russian border-guards detained 16 transgressors of the Tajik-Afghan border and confiscated 37 kgs of heroin. RIA Novosti received this information on Friday at the press service of the border group of the Federal Frontier Service of Russia in Tajikistan. Apart from this, four attempts to cross the border were prevented, a clash took place with armed transgressors, and border detachments were shelled ten times from the territory of Afghanistan. At the check points, border-guards confiscated arms and ammunition. In particular, they confiscated five rounds of small arms, more than 1,100 units of various ammunition, 13 mines, 5 grenades, as well as three foreign-made radio stations. Engineering-technical installations were twice damaged as tank shells were fired from Afghanistan at the section of the Moskovsky border detachment and one time at the section of the Panj border detachment.
