The federal forces registered a concentration of bandit groups in the suburbs of Grozny and the redeployment of several bandit groups from the mountain regions of the republic to its flatlands. According to the press centre of the Interior Ministry for the North Caucasus, the bandit groups are being reinforced with fighters who sneak into Chechnya from other republics of Russia and ex-Soviet states. The military say some 100 fighters from Georgia are expected to arrive in the Gudermes District in the other half of April. In addition, RIA was told in the press centre that the bandit leaders expect major financial injections from Arab countries for subversive and terrorist operations in late April.
