Israel delivered air attack on Syrian troops in Lebanon

Israel is enlarging the scale of its aggression against Arabs. After midnight the Israeli aviation made a missile-bomb attack on the radar of Syrian troops in Lebanon situated in the area of the Dahr al-Beidar mountain pass area near the Beirut - Damascus highway. The radar was destroyed and, by the preliminary data, three servicemen were killed and five were wounded. Prime-Minister of Lebanon Rafiq al-Hariri stated that the night-time Israeli attack on the Lebanese territory is an act of aggression against Lebanon and Syria. He warned the Israeli government against continuation of such actions, since they spell dangerous consequences in the region. The Lebanese Premier called upon the international community to take urgent measures for preventing dangerous development of the situation in the Middle East which is continuation of what is taking place of the Palestinian territories. Lebanese radio reported that Israel had characterised this move as an act of retribution for the destruction of an Israeli tank by Hezbollah militants on Saturday and for the wounding of its crew on the Mazaria Shebaa border territory which is claimed by Lebanon. Israel also accused Syria of supporting the Hezbollah movement.
