President of Kirghizia Askar Akayev and foreign minister of Tajikistan Talbak Nazarov discussed on Friday in Bishkek issues pertaining to regional security, reported a spokesman for the press service of Kirghizia's president. During their meeting Askar Akayev and Talbak Nazarov exchanged views on a possible aggravation of the situation in Central Asia in connection with the actions of pro-Islamic extremists. The foreign minister of Tajikistan stressed that "there are no militants on its territory", reported the press service. President of Kirghizia asked the leaders of Tajikistan to pay attention to the problems of ethnic Kirghizians who live on the territory of Tajikistan in the Alpine Tavildarinsky region. Talbak Nazarov paid an official visit to Kirghizia on April 11.
