Doctors describe as "satisfactory" the current condition of former Yugoslav president Slobodan Milosevic, who was last night transferred from jail to hospital after being diagnosed as having acute cardiac insufficiency, says Justice Minister Vladan Batic. According to the minister, the doctors' report will shortly be passed over to the investigator, who will use it as a basis for decision-making on further actions vis-a-vis Milosevic. In all probability, he will now be transferred to the prison hospital and then back to his cell, Batic predicted. According to the minister, the checkup by prison doctors, who established that their patient was having heart problems, was followed by an examination at the Military Medical Academy, where the ex-president was placed. Basing on the results of detailed tests, ten doctors of the Academy concluded it was high blood pressure rather than a heart disorder that was to blame for the condition. Batic underscored that everything had been done in full compliance with the law and with ethic norms, applied to Milosevic ever since his arrest on April 1.
