Preparations For Final Installation Of Pontoons Under Two-vessel System To Enter Final Stage

Chief of the Press Service at the Russian Northern Fleet Vladimir Navrotsky reported Monday that preparatory works on final installation of the pontoons under the two-vessel system consisting of the Giant-4 pontoon and the Kursk nuclear submarine, were under way in the Belokamenka Bay of the Kola peninsula. In his words, design defects of the Mar and Gor pontoons are currently being repaired. Some equipment, in particular, joint units are being upgraded. Vladimir Navrotsky also stated that by 10:00 a.m. Moscow time the testing and adjustment of submerging and emerging systems was completed.
