Experts of the Rubin Design Bureau believe that the pumping out of water from the Kursk nuclear submarine is one of the primary objectives. They state that the water should be removed from the sub's silos and reactor room. A group of specialists led by Chief Reactor Designer Igor Serov is developing a scheme for heating the reactor room and preventing any unnecessary reactions relating to low temperatures. According to the Northern Fleet Staff, experts of the Rubin Design Bureau have developed 104 procedures on organization and performance of works in the floating dock in the Roslyakovo shipyards. The necessity to pump the water out relates to weather conditions, because a sever northern winter is expected to sweep over the region very soon.
