The peace agreement, which was signed by the leaders of the Albanian and Macedonian parties in the town of Ohrid, is on a verge of frustration, and Macedonia is on the threshold of a new total war. This was reported by the authoritative Albanian newspaper Zeri which is published in the Yugoslav autonomous province of Kosovo. The newspaper asserts that this can be seen from the fact that Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Mircea Geoane, Secretary General of the European Union Javier Solana and member of the European foreign affairs commission Chris Patten yesterday refused to make any statements after the meeting with Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski and Prime Minister Ljubco Georgievski. As has become known from unofficial sources, the meetings of representatives of the leading European organizations with the leadership of Macedonia took place "in a hard and tense atmosphere." The newspaper Zeri points out that this tension has been caused first of all by the following circumstance: the most influential Macedonian party - the All-Macedonian Revolutionary Organization, headed by Ljubco Georgievski - "has blocked the implementation of the peace treaty."
