Nine large arms caches were found by police officers in Chechnya over the past 24 hours. According to the provisional police press centre in Khankala, caches in Vedeno and Nozhai-Urt districts of Chechnya, as well as in Grozny contained 7.4 kg of TNT, 300 g of hexogen, 3 grenade launchers, 89 shells, 19 mines, 94 grenades and 21,500 rounds of ammunition. In addition, military engineers defused 17 self-made explosive devices and 8 land mines over the past 24 hours. Most of them, 9 self-made explosive devices, were found on the federal motorway linking Baku and Rostov. The rest were planted on the road sides and traffic areas of country roads, the press centre officials were quoted as saying. Two land mines were found in the Zavodskoi district of Grozny. They were planted on the ground floor of demolished buildings.
