In reply to Turkey's decision to send 90 military advisers to help the Northern Alliance within the framework of the campaign of combating international terrorism, the Taliban stated they will regard Turkey as an aggressor and US accomplice, the NNI agency reported. According to information provided by the Frontier Post newspaper, Ankara believes that the military operations should not be stopped during the Ramazan fast which is sacred for Moslems and which will last for a month. Representative of the Turkish president Ahmed Necdet Sezer declared that "terrorists do not respect religious values and holidays, including Ramazan." President of Pakistan general Pervez Musharraf and U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld are expected to discuss, on Sunday in Islamabad, the question whether to continue or suspend the military operation in and bombing of Afghanistan during the Ramazan holiday.
