Now is an extremely good time to settle the Karabakh conflict, said Rudolf Perina, U.S. co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk group for Karabakh settlement, as he sat in conference with Sheikh Allah-Shukiur Pasha-zadeh, head of the Muslim Board for the Caucasus. There are ample prospects to settle the conflict as the involved parties are ready to meet each other halfway, remarked Mr. Perina. With his goodwill, Sheikh Allah-Shukiur can help to thwart another Karabakh warfare, said Vyacheslav Trubnikov, Russia's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, who was attending the conference. He asked the Sheikh to bless efforts by Minsk group co-chairmen of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Sheikh Allah-Shukiur Pasha-zadeh is eager to see the conflict settled by peaceful means, he reassured. Karabakh settlement will lead the agenda as he meets with His Beatitude Gareghin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, in Moscow, added the Muslim leader. To be mediated by His Beatitude Alexis II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, the conference is scheduled between November 10 and 20.
