A shoot out in the Chechen town of Argun has left four militants dead. The clash occurred on Tuesday following the unsuccessful assassination attempt on Akhmad Kadyrov, the head of the Chechen Administration, Ruslan Alkhanov, the Kadyrov's security chief, was quoted as saying on Friday. According to him, Kadyrov's body guards were quick to react to the situation and opened fire at the assassins. He also said that the clash lasted hardly more than 10 minutes until the guards managed to suppress the assassin's attack. Alkhanov did not disclose who was the initiator of the attempt, only stating that it had been carefully planned. According to Alkhanov, Akhmad Kadyrov himself was not injured in the assault. The condition of the three wounded body guards is satisfactory and their lives are out of danger. According to the report released by the press service of the head of the Administration, Kadyrov's convoy came under fire from the direction of a demolished building in Argun in the late hours of Tuesday. The attackers were firing with assault rifles and machine guns. This was the 13th attempt to kill Kadyrov.
