An American Airlines' Airbus A 300--Boston Flight 587 to Santo Domingo, Dominican republic--crashed 15 km off the JFK airport, 9 am, local time (5 pm, Moscow time). Four buildings are on fire on the crash site in Queens, presumably close to a major petrol station. The tragedy is blamed on an engine failure, says the Fox television. The federal air administration has no grounds to suspect a terror act. All three New York City airports are closed, and Manhattan-bound bridges and tunnels blocked for safety reasons.
