Two Polish tourists have most likely died near a glacier of Gorny Altai (southern Siberia), reported the Siberian regional emergencies' ministry centre on Friday. A Warsaw citizen Alexander Kuz and Kamil Mekhalik from Krakow used a route not determined in advance when going to one of the glaciers on October 9. They refused to be officially registered as tourists and promised to return to the mountainous base Vysotnik on October 26. The tourists did not return and the search for them began. At the request of the Polish embassy to Russia two rescue groups of the emergencies ministry examined the supposed routes of the tourists. A helicopter cannot be used so far to search for them because of a strong snow storm.
