A plane of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has delivered to Kabul 20 tons of medicaments as part of a programme of humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, the press service of the Ministry reported to RIA Novosti.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry has also sent its mobile hospital to Afghanistan: on Monday its equipment was delivered to medical institutions of Kabul. The hospital has been open for two months in Kabul as part of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Humanitarian Centre. Over the time, 6,000 people have been given medical aid, 60 patients have been operated on. Russian experts have also trained medical and technical personnel for operating the hospital's equipment.
The Emergencies Ministry notes that now the situation with medical aid has improved in Kabul, and that's why there is no longer need in the services of the mobile hospital. However, Russian medics remain in the Afghan capital: 6 doctors and 2 nurses will continue working in 4 hospitals of Kabul.
