Russian president Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with foreign minister Igor Ivanov Thursday.
The president's press service reported that the minister informed the head of state on the results of his visits to Spain and Portugal. During the talks in Madrid special attention was paid to questions of developing cooperation between Russia and the European Union chaired by Spain now.
Ivanov also informed the president about the successes of the Russian diplomacy in settling the situation around Afghanistan, in the Middle East and in other hot spots.
