Two more days are needed to repair the damaged part of the emergency gas pipeline between Mozdok (a town in Russia's North Ossetian republic) and Tbilisi. The breakdown occurred on January 18 and the supply of gas to Georgia was interrupted. This information was obtained by RIA Novosti from the sources in the Southern Regional Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
Repair crews planned to finish the repairs yesterday, but the local landscape made their work difficult and caused a significant delay in the operation.
The repair works are also under way at the main gas pipeline North Caucasus-Transcaucasia, which had been damaged even earlier. There, the repair crew are dismantling the damaged pipes and installing new ones. The conclusion of works is planned for January 30.
