2 Terrorists Arrested on Chechen-Ingush Border with 80 kg of Plastic Eplosives

Two terrorists were caught in the act of smuggling 80 kg of plastic explosives from Chechnya to Ingushetia and initiated a clash with law enforcers, wounding three policemen.

According to a source in the Ingush interior ministry, the incident occurred at the federal checkpoint Kavkaz on the Ingush-Chechen administrative border on Sunday. Two men bound for Chechnya in a Zhiguli car opened fire on OMON /police special task force/ officers who stopped them for a check. The policemen fired back. As a result, three policemen were injured, the passenger in the car killed, the driver wounded and arrested.

The two men had with them several units of small arms, 80 kg of plastic explosives, and six mortar rounds. Law enforcers have opened a criminal case and launched an investigation.
