Assassins of Chechen Regional Administration Head Akhmed Zavgayev Established

The assassins of Nadterechny District Administration Head Akhmed Zavgayev and his secretary have been established.

The assassination was committed on September 9, 2002.

The crime was committed by two citizens of the villages of Khatuni and Garagorsk, born in 1970 and 1973, the Headquarters on the Control of the Antiterrorist Operation in the North Caucasus disclosed. The measures, concerning the establishment of their present locality and arrest, are being taken.

Yesterday two members of a terrorist formation were arrested in the Zavodskoi district of Grozny. Arrested Rustam Usmanov, born in 1975 and Zilimkhan Eliskhanov, born in 1972, had no permanent place of residence, the Headquarters noted.

According to the information given by the Headquarters, in 2001 Usmanov participated in shooting and subversive activities against the Federal Forces in the regional center of Achkhoi-Martan.

The citizen of Grozny, born in 1979, who used an identification document with the obvious features of falsification, was arrested in Leninsky district of Grozny on suspicion of participation in an illegal armed formation. The measures to establish the arrested person's involvement in the committed crimes are being taken.
