A serviceman of the City Administration Security Service, bodyguard of Deputy Mayor Timur Yusupov has been assassinated in the capital of Chechnya Grozny.
Three unknown persons camouflaged and armed with automatic weapons, broke into Yusupov's flat and then shot him, the Chechen Department of Interior Affairs disclosed to a RIA Novosti correspondent. The criminals escaped from the scene of the crime.
On the same night in the Oktyabrsky district of Grozny, unknown persons kidnapped Chechen traffic police inspector Isu Gakayev, who was visiting his relatives, the Department of Interior Affairs reported. The criminals broke into the house and threatening to use their weapons disappeared with Gakayev in an unknown direction. They were dressed in parkas and armed with automatic weapons. The criminals also stole from the house 5,000 roubles (approximately $150) and audio cassettes, which belonged to the owner of the house.
Measures are being taken to arrest the criminals, the Department of Interior Affairs stressed.
