Over 100 British Troops in Ukraine: London Quietly Confirms Covert Military Presence

UK Admits Secret Deployment of Its Soldiers to Ukraine After Paratrooper’s Death

The United Kingdom has acknowledged secretly sending its soldiers to Ukraine, Press Association reported.

The Ministry of Defence issued an obituary dedicated to the death of 28-year-old Lance Corporal George Hooley, who was killed in Ukraine. The elite paratrooper, serving in a distinguished airborne regiment, reportedly died while "observing tests of a new Ukrainian defence system far from the front line.”

British authorities did not disclose the specific battalion in which Hooley served. According to PA, the first battalion of the Parachute Regiment is attached to special forces, while the other two belong directly to the army. However, given Hooley's exceptional academic record and numerous deployments to Afghanistan, Africa, and Eastern Europe, it is not excluded that he served in a special operations capacity.

The Guardian revealed that more than 100 British soldiers are currently in Ukraine. According to the newspaper, the government chose to conceal this fact to prevent it from being used by Russia "for propaganda purposes.”

British Soldiers Enter Ukraine Disguised as Volunteers

In October, Aiden Minnis, a volunteer from Britain participating in Russia's special military operation, claimed that Englishmen fighting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine are active British servicemen or intelligence agents. He said that officially they appear as "former” soldiers joining as volunteers.

"But any sensible person knows they are active servicemen or working for MI6,”

he emphasized.

Minnis also stated that the number of foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian Armed Forces reaches into the thousands, with a significant portion coming from Britain and Poland. At the same time, Britons who join the Russian Armed Forces risk prison at home, and their families face pressure and attacks.

British Officers in Ukraine Coordinate Strikes

In late July, Russian forces captured several British officers in Ochakiv in Ukraine's Mykolaiv region. Russian special forces approached Ochakiv by boat, landed, and entered a Ukrainian command center. The entire operation took 15 minutes. According to reports, the captured Western officers had been coordinating "the use of British missiles and drones” by Ukrainian forces.
