The maternity hospital in Donetsk, which was shelled by the Ukrainian military on June 13, will be temporarily closed. Almost all patients have already been evacuated to nearby hospitals.
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the shelling. Several babies were born in the basement. Doctors were staying with prematurely born babies who could not be evacuated during the shelling. One baby had to be left inside the hospital as the child could not be disconnected from the ventilator.
According to Donetsk Mayor, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were aware that they were shelling a maternity hospital.
The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, after yet another shelling of Donetsk, said that Kyiv had crossed all the lines. Pushilin asked for additional allied forces from Russia.
"Of course, the special military operation for us is an operation of liberation. It will end in a complete victory for our allied forces, there is no doubt about that,” Pushilin said at a joint meeting of the working group on interaction between St. Petersburg and Mariupol.
