As a result of the explosion of a grenade, four people were killed and six were wounded at the town of Malgobek in Ingushetia (a republic in the Northern Caucasus).
As the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Ingushetia reported on Friday, on the day before in a regular-service passenger bus which was going from Malgobek to Kutuzov three inhabitants of Chechnya made an attempt to seize citizen Musalayev as a hostage. The passengers of the bus put up active resistance to the bandits.
By the preliminary information, during the fight between the passengers and the criminals one of the attackers managed to snatch a grenade and to blast it. As a result of the explosion, four people, among them Musalayev, perished, and six people were wounded and hospitalised at the Malgobek district hospital.
The bandits tried to escape but during the pursuit the militiamen detained the criminals on the administrative border with Chechnya.
As the operatives believe, the detainees knew their victim and thoroughly prepared the abduction. The purpose of the crime was to get money ransom.
