A 4-men strong gang responsible for murdering local residents has been arrested in the Leninsky district of Grozny.
A temporary press centre of the Russian Interior Ministry located in Khankala has disclosed that the gang was arrested as a result of a special operation which involved serious crime investigators of the Interior Ministry's task force and Chechen police officers in the Leninsky district of Grozny.
Questioning the detainees has revealed their involvement in a number of crimes. In July 2001, they killed a woman of Russian descent in Grozny, in December 2001, they committed another murder. They got inside the house belonging to a Chechen woman, killed her and buried the corpse in the basement.
An investigation to clear up the detainees' involvement in other grave crimes has been launched.
