Three terrorists were killed when planting a land mine in the Urus-Martan district of Chechnya. The Russian Interior Ministry reported on Thursday that the incident had taken place the other day in the Samashki village. A reconnaissance squad of the Interior Force was patrolling the area and located two suspicious persons near a road running along the outskirts of the village. Having detected the servicemen, the unidentified persons opened small arms fire. The squad opened return fire leaving both attackers killed. No casualties among federal servicemen have been reported.
On the scene, the soldiers found a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a Makarov pistol and elements of an explosive device. The attackers are currently being identified. An investigation into the case has been launched.
