The travel of motor vehicles on the territory of the Chechen Republic is temporarily stopped. Also closed is the entry to the Chechen capital Grozny.
According to the chief of the Press Service in the Chechen Interior Ministry Ruslan Atzayev, the "stop the wheels" restrictions were introduced in Chechnya on Saturday. All motor vehicles, except military, police and ambulance, are prohibited to travel.
Atzayev said that the restrictions are imposed due to the situation on the administrative border between Chechnya and Ingushetia, where the special operation against the remaining members of the terrorist group, which had infiltrated the Russian territory from Georgia, is still underway.
The chief of the Press Service also reported that all units of the Ministry are mobilized and remain in the state of alert. He said that the OMON and local law enforcement units in Achkhoi-Martan district closed in on the border and maintain combat readiness. There are no reports of encounters with the terrorists so far.
