On Tuesday night, Israeli troops conducted a new operation in Rafiah in the south of the Gaza Strip.
15 armoured vehicles and several bulldozers were used in the operation, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported. They destroyed a number of buildings in Rafiah, including the house of Muhammad al-Kasir, an active member of the Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade. Israel claims he was involved in several attacks on Jewish settlements in Gaza.
The firing in Rafiah and the explosion of al-Kasir's house wounded more than 20 Palestinians. The Israeli troops did not suffer any casualties.
Another army operation last night was conducted by the Israelis on the West Bank of the River Jordan. In the Beit Ilma village the army destroyed the house of the family of Shaadi Najmi, whom the Israeli accuse of taking part in the recent skirmishes in the centre of the Israeli town of Netania. Two Palestinians, one of them an active member of the People's Front for the Liberation of Palestine, were detained in the Sinjil village. Six Palestinians were arrested in the El-Amri refugee camp near Hebron.
