Donetsk militia allow investigation of Boeing 777 crash on their territory

Donetsk militias gave their consent to the investigation into the crash of the Boeing-777 on their territory. Representatives of self-defense forces of the People's Republic of Donetsk said that they were ready to deliver flight recorders from the crashed Boeing 777 to the international commission. Western governments and Malaysia, with the support of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, insist that the investigation should be conducted in Ukraine, RBC reports.

"I spoke with the President of Ukraine, and he guaranteed that it would be fair and transparent investigation, in which Malaysian representatives will be able to participate. The international team should be allowed to investigate, and no one should move anything, including black boxes, from the crash site," said Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun-Razak. According to him, he had a telephone conversation with U.S. President Barack Obama, who also remains in close dialogue with the authorities of Ukraine. The U.S. leader also spoke in favor of keeping all evidence of the crash on the territory of Ukraine.

Representatives of the People's Republic of Donetsk said that the black boxes that militia had recovered on the crash site would be delivered for expertise to Moscow. Later, it was said that the flight recorders would be delivered to the international committee. The first black box was found a few hours after the disaster, the second at around 9:00 a.m. (10:00 MSK).

OSCE observers have already departed to the area of the crash. The three-sided  contact group (OSCE, Russia and Ukraine) held a videoconference in Kiev with Donbass militia. During the talks, it was agreed that the militia would close the disaster area and let representatives of "local authorities" access the crash site. In addition, the militia agreed to provide secure access and ensure security for the national investigation commission, including international experts.
