Seven children die in farmhouse fire while their mother milks cows

43602.jpegSeven children were killed Tuesday night after a fire broke out at a farmhouse in Pennsylvania.

According to officials, the blaze started around 11:00 p.m. at a two-story farmhouse in Blain, just north of Harrisburg. State Trooper Tom Pinkerton said the childrens' mother was in the barn milking cows when another child alerted her to the fire.

The mother then ran to the home of a neighbor, who called 911, before running to get the childrens' father, who was taking a nap in his milk delivery truck a short distance away, KBOI reports.

The children ranged in age from seven months to 11 years old. One three-year-old child survived. When the fire erupted, the surviving three-year-old ran to get her mother who was in the barn.

The mother was unable to get inside the farmhouse, and she and the child ran down the road to call 911 from a neighbour's house.

By time fire crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames and none of the children inside could be saved. There's no word on the cause of the blaze, CityNews reports.
