Miami-area police say a gunman shot and killed four people at a restaurant and wounded three others before killing himself.
Hialeah police spokesman Carl Zogby says the Sunday night shooting began in the parking lot of the mall containing the restaurant.
The shooting happened after the man was seen arguing with a woman in the parking lot. Police say the man shot the woman, then walked into the restaurant and opened fire, The Associated Press reports.
According to CBS 4, for a reason police don't fully understand, the man then walked into Yoyitos and opened fire. Hialeah police chief Mark Overton said some of the victims may have known the girlfriend, while others may have 'simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time.'
In the chaos following the shootings, police say the gunman fled the restaurant, grabbed the white Dodge Durango SUV owned by one of his victims, and fled.
Police put out an alert for the SUV, and the car was found a few blocks away at 350 East 45th.
Inside was the gunman, an apparent suicide. Police are faced with the massive task of sorting out who was shot and why, and what sent the gunman into such a rage that he turned a group of Sunday night diners into a shooting gallery.
