Police say a man suspected of fatally shooting three brothers at a birthday party in western Wisconsin died Monday morning at an area hospital.
Police have said 23-year-old Geu Tou (gee tow) Vang of St. Paul, Minn., shot and killed the brothers late Saturday and wounded another man before shooting himself.
Menomonie Police Lt. Chris Langlois says Vang died about 8:45 a.m. Monday at Luther Midelfort Hospital in Eau Claire, The Associated Press reports.
According to Leader-Telegram, killed were Siong Kong, 25, Toua Kong, 32, and Seng Kong, 13, all of Menomonie. Injured was Toua Xiong, 25, of Menomonie who police describe as having non-threatening injuries. He received an injury to a hand and his neck.
The three brothers were pronounced dead at the scene.
While investigators believe the victims all knew the suspect, a motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There was alcohol recovered at the scene, though its involvement won't be known until toxicology results are reviewed. Police say the shooting does not appear to be directly gang or drug related, though gang affiliations with some individuals involved are being investigated, Wisconsin Radio Network reports.
