According to therapist Amir Khan, one of the greatest advantages of beans and other legumes lies in their high content of fiber, beneficial fats, and protein. He emphasized that this widely accessible food category contains an extraordinary concentration of diverse nutrients essential for long-term health.
Study Shows Lower Mortality Risk Among Bean Eaters
The doctor noted that, unlike many fashionable superfoods, beans genuinely hold the potential to increase life expectancy. He referred to research demonstrating a measurable benefit:
“A study showed that people who consume a lot of beans have a 10–15 percent lower risk of dying from any cause compared with those who rarely eat legumes,” the physician explained.
He added that beans also help lower cholesterol levels, prevent chronic illnesses, and support healthy weight management.
