Snorters run higher risks of developing cancer

Snorting is a big problem that disturbs not only the people who sleep or happen to be next to a snorter. Snorting is a big problem for snorters too, American and Spanish scientists concluded as a result of their joint research.

In their experiment, the scientists used mice sick with kidney cancer. The researchers found that the lack of oxygen in the body may provoke the development of tumors by pushing the growth of blood vessels that nourish them.

Thus, breathing problems during sleep may contribute to the development of cancer, the researchers noted.

Earlier, sleep apnea, during which throat walls relax and block the airways, was linked to obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks and strokes.

The report with the results of the experiments was presented at a medical conference in Munich.
