Neil Richards: Fortunately the editorial stance is to allow for divergent opinions in this column

I must admit there is some humour to be found in that after 17 consecutive days with no new letters to the editor, when one does appear it is immediately followed with another griping that it was published.

Mr. Fleming wants PRAVDA.Ru to restrict letters to the editor to those that agree with its editorial stance. Well, from where I sit, I think they already do. Fortunately the editorial stance, as evidenced by the multiplicity of viewpoints in the items below, is to allow for divergent opinions in this column which is, after all, a place for opinions. I think it is a good thing that a John Fleming can submit an opinion and have it published here, even though my personal opinion is that he cannot distinguish between journalistic criticism and a personal attack. In fact, I would like to see even more letters to the editor on these pages. Even if only to call me a crank. Neil Richards USA
