Our reader Steve Radisch: Must space be wasted on superstition?

Should the January 4th article about Alexander Buzinov belong here while the image of Lenin, a wholehearted opponent of superstition, remains on the masthead? Yes, I know Russians have problems--don't we all—but superstition, like alcoholism, is a false crutch that can only prolong and worsen problems as it obscures a scientific analysis and solution. One needs only see the tax-free snake oil rackets called churches, synagogues, and mosques here in the United States to understand the parasitism gnawing away at the fulfilment of everyone's human potential. Let us hope that Russia will not repeat America's mistake; please do not give this rot any more attention unless absolutely necessary.
