TransCanada Corporation and Shell U.S. Gas and Power expect that New York Governor David Paterson will reject the Broadwater project on the planned terminal.
The Broadwater project is a joint venture of the two major energy companies to construct a floating liquid natural gas (LNG) processing plant in Long Island Sound.
The project promises a capacity of 1.25 billion cubic feet of natural gas daily.
The NY Governor gave no comment. While the companies highlighted that the possible rejection meant a missed chance to reduce energy prices for businesses.
