Altana reiterated on Tuesday it has not been in talks to acquire U.S. chemicals group Rockwood Holdings, which is 40 percent owned by private equity group Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co KKR.UL.
"There have not been any talks with Rockwood or its shareholders," Chief Executive Matthias Wolfgruber told a news conference, adding that no meeting was planned.
Wolfgruber added, however, that the company had a merger and acquisition team in house that was permanently combing the market for attractive targets to grow the company.
